Warmer weather

After a week of rain, it warmed up this weekend and so I was very excited to get out my new swimming pool on the roof. Here I am filling it up with Dada ready to dive in. Sometimes he's a silly Dada.
We were also very excited to find our first ripe strawberry growing on the roof. Here I am tasting it. It was very small and very sour, but I said that I loved it. I think my face might tell a different story...

Smell the roses

Mama took this photo for me the other day. We had been noticing all the beautiful Spring flowers on our walks to the Kinderhaus, and I wanted to take some photos of them to show to my Noni. This rose bush is our favourite, we can't believe how lovely it is, and how good it smells. I took lots of photos of it, and then I wanted Mama to take a photo with me in it. Later when we were looking at this photo, we noticed that someone had written on the ground: "an den Rosen schmecken" in chalk. Stop and smell the roses!

Visits and visitors

A couple of weekends ago we went for a long weekend to Warsaw. We had a very nice trip, just me and Mama and Dada. The people in Poland were very friendly. It started on the bus from the airport, when a little girl came to play with me and put my hands out to do some clapping game. I couldn't understand a word she said and Mama and Dada were very busy looking at books to find some words to say in Polish. Me and the girl just smiled a lot and waved goodbye to each other when she had to get off. The next day we went to a palace on a lake. It was very beautiful and I made Mama and Dada go on a gondola on the lake. I don't think Dada really wanted to. After that we sat at an ampitheatre and watched an orchestra practising. The Polish man next to us was very nice and told us lots about Poland and the show that was going to be on, so we stayed to watch it and I saw some beautiful dances with girls in fancy dresses and red boots. In the shops people kept giving me things, at one place a lollipop and at a market, a wood carving of an angel. Pretty special.

The weekend after Warsaw, Uncle Anthony came to visit us in Basel. I had lots of fun playing with him again - we did painting together and read stories and had some very good conversations. We drove to Bern, the capital of Switzerland, on Sunday. It was very pretty there and was a good one to add to the list of capital cities I have visited so far!

Family portraits

I did some pictures of Dada and Mama the other day. I think they look like them, don't you?
